The capitalist system has defeated every lesser system in war and production and brought peace and freedom to the countries that embrace it.  Our standard of living is one we could not have thought of 50 years ago.  Unfortunately as with all previous civilizations, government is taxing and regulating everything imaginable including our dreams.  In the process wages are declining for 97% of all private workers and antagonists are blaming capitalism. Many capitalist workers think it, many feel the effects and most all suffer the consequences.  Economic research is needed to prove to everyone that the burden of government does not fall just on those who are taxed, but on those who work to provide our way of life.

The basic barometers on which we judge the growth and well being of our population appear to be flawed. The calculation for Gross Domestic Product, for example, appears to distort the size of our economy and the relative size of government. The result, if it can be proven, is that our government consumes an enormous and growing share of every dollar we spend. Research may prove that a crisis will follow when the private sector no longer has the resources to support the government or itself. If this happens, it is not likely that government will be blamed and we may lose the freedom we so desire if totalitarian forces take over.

On the positive side, the potential exists for the plans for economic development to come out of the magic box and unto the drawing board where societal improvements can be assured. A high standard of living, environmental protection, workplace safety and the best possible health care can be brought to everyone on the planet if economics is no longer voodoo science.

Defend liberty, defend your way of life and raise government to the same standard of performance that government expects of the private sector, be a sponsor.
